Boar

Boars are the first animal you'll reliably meet in the meadows, and the main early source of leather scraps and raw meat. They have very low health, so they go down fast with whatever you're carrying. The trophy is an occasional bonus drop worth keeping if you want one for decoration. No special damage types are needed — standard weapons work fine.
