Sources and attribution

This site is an unofficial fan-made reference. Valheim is developed by Iron Gate AB and published by Coffee Stain Publishing. Game names, item names and trademarks belong to their respective owners, and nothing here is endorsed by or affiliated with them.

Where the numbers come from

Item names, item types, crafting recipes, creature damage resistances and creature drop tables are extracted from the Jötunn project's published documentation dumps, generated from Valheim 0.221.12 using the JotunnDoc mod.

Jötunn, the Valheim Library https://github.com/Valheim-Modding/Jotunn Copyright (c) 2021 JotunnLib Team Licensed under the MIT License.

Damage, armour, weight, stack size, block power, durability, creature health and spawn biomes come from kirilloid's Valheim data tables, used with the author's direct permission. Attribution was expressly waived; it is given here anyway because the work deserves it.

Food bonuses and consumed status-effect statistics come from the Valheim client itself: ItemDrop and its linked status effect in the owned Steam build listed in the source manifest. The extractor reads ordinary, unencrypted SoftRef bundles and the game's own assembly metadata; it neither launches nor modifies the client.

The exact revision of each source is pinned by commit and by SHA-256 checksum in games/valheim/sources.yml, along with the date its terms were checked. Every entity page states the game version its numbers were verified against.

What is not from a source

Biome and boss entries have not been extracted from a dump, and those pages say so in a warning on the page itself rather than presenting an unchecked number as a fact.

All descriptive writing on this site is written for this site. The in-game item descriptions written by Iron Gate are not reproduced here, and neither is prose from any wiki.

Corrections

If a number here disagrees with the game, the game is right and this site is wrong. The extracted data lives in version control, so a correction is a visible change with a reason attached to it.
